Wolfe's is pleased to present the photographic works
of the 35 year veteran professional photographer, Mike Rooney.
A Richland, Kansas native, Mike's photographic excellence
awards range from international contests from Kodak to having his
works in the National Geographic Hall of Fame next to many of the
other top photographers in the world.
Very little "post-production" goes into Mike's photos.
His joy comes from getting the image right in the first place! In
the camera!
"When shooting animals, patience adds tranquility,"
Mike explains. Patiently waiting, sometimes for hours for the just-right
turn of the head on a bull elk, the turn of the breeze for accenting
the flow of an animal's fur, or the patience in letting the sun's
angle become just right to capture animal in just the right light.
The world is the subject for Mike. His photos span
the globe but when pressed he will admit that it is also very rewarding
for him to shoot many of the great scenes right here in his native
Kansas.
To Mike it's the image quality that makes his photography
excellent, even as much as the subject itself.
